Welcome to the Junior Section.

Fitmums & Friends gives children from 5 years to teens the opportunity to be physically active in a fun and friendly environment.  FMJs (Fitmums & Friends Juniors) is for children aged 5+ and  “10 to Teens” offers the next step in athletics coaching for children from 10 years old.

Coaches

All coaches are qualified UK Athletics Coaches and Assistant Coaches.  Fitmums & Friends has met the essential requirements for registration with East Riding (council for) Voluntary Youth Services which means the necessary safeguarding measures are in place.  This includes having named child protection officers, a Child Protection Policy and an anti-bullying policy.  The organisers of junior sessions have CRB checks and are familiar with the child protection/anti bullying policies. Parents are required to complete a consent form and read the operating guidelines  before children participate in an FMJ session.

Events

We encourage our younger athletes to get involved in local events e.g. fun runs, park-run and we often organise a turn out at particular events so there is support for all members taking part.  The children particularly enjoy the camaraderie and support of whole club events like this.
