Small Grant/Sponsorship Application. The aim of the CHCP small grants programme is to provide an opportunity for local voluntary and community organisations and/or other not-for-profit organisations to contribute towards the health and wellbeing of people living in Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire. The programme provides grants or donations of up to £500 maximum to carry out activities, projects or one-off events requiring an element of sponsorship. Fitmums & Friends has been awarded a grant from this programme to enable two members to attend the UK Athletics Leadership in Running Fitness Course. Run Leaders are an essential aspect of the supportive structure of Fitmums & Friends which, as a club, supports men and women of both Hull & the East Riding to participate in sport
The Public Health Directorate of NHS East Riding of Yorkshire have kindly supported Fitmums & Friends with funding for some high visibility kit to ensure the safety of members whilst running during the winter. NHS East Riding is keen to support the role of Fitmums & Friends in encouraging and supporting physical activity in the local community.
The Sewell Retail Group have kindly offered their Cottingham garage as a “safe haven” for Fitmums & Friends members. This means that if any member gets into difficulty whilst out on a run and is near the garage they can go in and know that they will be welcomed and supported. The Sewell Group donation has also provided funding for Run Leaders courses which is a essential feature of the club.
Yorkshire Bank has provided funding for Run Leaders Courses. This enables us to ensure we have continued source of competent run leaders who are essential for the smooth running of the club. Increasing our Run Leaders also enables an effective rota system which ensures that leaders still get free runs to develop and achieve their own goals
East Riding of Yorkshire Council Small Grants Application
This small grant will enable the purchase of Run Leaders vests and t-shirts. This will enable Run Leaders to be easily identifiable and accessible to members which is increasingly important as the numbers of runners turning up to each session increases.
